Carmel, CA – 22 September 2005 – The Tradewinds
Carmel, the luxury boutique hotel in Carmel, CA, recently featured in Architectural
Digest, announced the appointment of Yuriko Weathers as its new General Manager.
”Yuriko’s knowledge, experience, and own personal style are a
perfect match for the intimate ambiance of The Tradewinds Carmel,” says
Susan Stilwell, co-owner of The Tradewinds Carmel, and daughter
of founders Dick and Patricia Catlin. “She has a personal
warmth and grace that will make our guests feel even more at home during
their visits here.”
Weathers commented: “The Tradewinds is such a jewel in Carmel,
I feel fortunate to have been asked to be part of the team. The recent
spectacular renovation has brought the design and physical characteristics
of The Tradewinds to the highest levels. My focus will be to
ensure that the service levels match the unparalleled beauty and charm of
the property. I am delighted to have that honor.”
Weathers past positions include serving as Vice President of Retail for the Pebble Beach Company, where she was responsible for 14 retail outlets and directed merchandising for all corporate, web site, event, and tournament sales. She had the pleasure of being a part of 3 US Opens held at Pebble Beach and was a member of the Pebble Beach executive committee. Ms. Weathers has also held management positions with Ann Taylor and Doubletree Hotels.
The Tradewinds at Carmel
The Tradewinds Carme is Carmel's premier luxury boutique hotel providing an elegant oasis just a short stroll from many wonderful shops, galleries, and restaurants. Among other tributes, The Tradewinds was featured in Architectural Digest November 2004 for its outstanding renovation by acclaimed designer Charles Gruwell, best known for his work on The Four Seasons and Mandalay Bay Hotels in Las Vegas and The Sorrento Hotel in Seattle. Upon arrival at The Tradewinds, guests enjoy fresh orchids, hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries and a delightful pot of Asian tea. The Tradewinds is a unique fusion of Asian and tropical design. It provides an elegant oasis of calm and an intriguing “zen-like” atmosphere for each guest.
