The Carmel Mission is known not only for its beauty but it historical significance. The Carmel Mission Basilica is recognized as the national shrine to Father Junipero Serra. It has become one of the more popular sites for weddings. The Carmel Mission is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM and from 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM on Sunday.
